I am 31 years old and a self-taught landscape photographer, currently based in Edinburgh, Scotland where I work as a technical support manager.
My photographic influences come from who I consider some of the finest landscape photographers: Joe Cornish, Colin Prior, Charlie Waite, David Ward and Lee Frost. Other photographic influences include Martin Parr and the late Henri Cartier-Bresson. I shoot entirely using the digital medium.
Having travelled through southern Spain and Portugal in 2005, in Spring 2006 I visited northern Tenerife to pursue the other area of my work, travel photography. Also in 2006 I flew to Lewis and Harris in Scotland's Outer Hebrides to cool down.
In 2007 I continued my quest for the right light, in order to get some good shots of the very best landscapes that Northern England and Scotland have to offer.
I also tried to combine landscapes with travel in May 2007 and ventured east to Turkey.
In 2008 the voyage continued and I returned to some familiar territory. I ventured back to Portugal and The Algarve in June to shoot some local scenes and landscapes. I also returned to the Outer Hebrides, this time to the stunning little Isle of Barra.
My next stop in November was again familiar ground as I returned to the Canary Islands, this time to the laid-back wilderness of La Palma.
I made my annual visit to the Scottish Islands in June 2009 - this time to Skye and Eigg and then flying south west to the isles of Coll and Tiree in The Inner Hebrides.
In October flew south to warmer shores and got some travel pics of Mallorca before heading to another island - Arran in November where I sampled "Scotland in miniature".
I started 2010 with a couple of trips to the English Lake District to get some artistic inspiration and this summer saw me heading off to Dalmatia and then the Outer Hebrides again where I indulged in some Croatian and Celtic island-hopping.
All these photographs were taken digitally with some sharpening done during post-processing.
The engines making the wheels go around range from the Canon EOS 5D MKII to the EOS 20D and 350D Digital SLRs using Canon EF 16-35L II, EF 24-105L, EF-S 10-22, EF-S 18-55, EF 50 & Ef 90-300 lenses.
I use the LEE filter system as well as a Hoya HD Circular Polarizer and also the B&W 10-Stop Circular ND.
Some older images were taken using an Olympus C750UZ 'Digital Compact' camera and wide-angle converter lens.
I recently purchased the Canon EF 24-105 f/4L IS telephoto/zoom lens.
